This is one of my all-time favourite soup recipes! Leeks are just a gorgeous plant, and so fun to cook with. The flavour they have once they cook down is absolutely delicious, but combined with the tomatoes and seasoned with plenty of thyme, himalayan salt, and pepper… It’s just phenomenal! Masoor Dal – Indian Red Lentils

This is such a great intro recipe for learning to cook Indian food, and is really accessible for those newer to just eating Indian food too! Everyone I’ve made this dish for has loved it, even if they’ve never had Indian food and think they won’t like it much. It’s a very easy recipe, and doesn’t take long to make. It’s also a very affordable meal, with simple ingredients. And it’s healthy too! Lentils are high in protein, fiber, and iron, and all those delicious Indian spices round out the dish to be packed with nutrients and health benefits unique to each herb and spice.

Simple Pie Crust Recipe

Pie Crust should be simple, right? There’s so many recipes out there, and I find that most often people overcomplicate things for whatever reason. I’ve been making pies ever since I was a young girl, and my go-to recipe was found in my Mom’s old, beat up copy of The Joy of Cooking, literally held together by duct tape at this point. Classic Pumpkin Pie


This is a recipe for that classic American Thanksgiving-style Pumpkin Pie we all know and love. I made my first pumpkin pie when I was about 12 years old, and it has been my responsibility in the family holiday traditions ever since. This is my own slight variation on the recipe that I’ve adapted over the years. I like to use quite a bit more of all those delicious Autumn spices, and I include nutmeg, which isn’t in many recipes you’ll find. I do encourage you to get fresh pumpkin filling and process it yourself. The taste is much, much better than regular old canned pumpkin pie filling, and better for you too. I hope you enjoy it! Indian Vegetable Curry

This is one of our favourite recipes! It’s a great introduction to learning how to cook Indian food. It’s a simple recipe, yet it really shows you how to combine some of the classic Indian spices and make a wonderful dish. From there it’s easy to build upon what you’ve learned should you attempt more Indian cooking in the future. Which I highly recommend you do! Indian food is some of the most delicious, affordable, and really pretty healthy food out there to regularly make for your family.
